Union CollegeEngeye and Union College form a partnership! Thanks to an idea born by Assistant Dean Tom McEvoy and Professor Hal Fried, and the generosity of the Rapaports, two Union students were chosen to embark on a volunteer mission of a lifetime. Providence Mission Pioneers in global health. Stepping outside our small, personal microcosm. Creating lasting change. Learning. Teaching. Taking risks. Challenges. Victories. Providence Hospital's first mission to Uganda encompassed all these facets and proved to be a great success. The team brought many supplies to Engeye clinic, treated hundreds of patients and worked closely with Laurence, Engeye's head nurse, as well as Laurence's student nurses in training. They shared knowledge and ideas and are already planning their next return.

Providence HospitalEngeye is adopted by Providence Hospital, in Portland, Oregon! Engeye has been chosen as one of Providence's supported global missions, which allows for Providence employees to travel for two weeks to Engeye Clinic in Uganda annually and be partially reimbursed! Thank you for recognizing the importance of global health Providence Hospital!

Engeye is accepted by MIT's Engineers Without Borders chapter!

The MIT EWB chapter has created three specialized teams, each revolving around their respective specialties: energy, health and water. The teams plan to execute their goals through several trips to Ddegeya Village in 2009. The dedicated crew has an overall project vision revolving around sustainable solutions. They plan to implement their goals with incremental improvements (aka baby steps), to ensure the projects are strategic and well-thought out, enabling them to replicate the designs in other third world villages.
