Charlotte Bloom

Charlotte graduated with a B.S. degree in Chemistry from Union College in Schenectady, NY.  After graduating in the spring of 2015, she embarked on a Union College Minerva Fellowship, spending ten months at Engeye Health Clinic.  In collaboration with the Ugandan staff and U.S. Board of Directors, Charlotte focused on evaluating the need of maternal health services and strategic clinic planning for the addition of comprehensive maternal and neonatal services at Engeye. She and her co-fellow, Joe, worked to fundraise for the new addition. She also enjoyed getting to know the clinic staff and their families, and learning about Ugandan culture. After the fellowship, Charlotte moved to Boston, MA, where she works at Brigham and Women’s Hospital and Massachusetts General Hospital in clinical research.
