The Engeye Scholars program support the educational attainment of children in Ddegeya, Uganda by offering financial assistance to academically promising students. The Scholars Program was created after Susan Nabukenya, a young girl from Ddegeya received medical treatment in the United States, returned to Uganda and was able to re-enroll in school. Since then, the Scholars Program has expanded and added additional students.
Currently, 22 students supported by Engeye are enrolled in university, boarding schools or trade school. Their scholarship through Engeye covers school fees, school supplies, supports their involvement in extracurricular activities, and covers their health care expenses.
